My mother is my hero, every day in every way. There is not a day that passes that I do not think fondly and lovingly of her and all that she is. There is no catagory in the realm of "momdom" that best fits her. A kind, loving, genuine, unselfish, devoted and fun soul from the inside out. Throughout all my life she has shown her strength, by far the strongest of any I know.
Comapssion should be her middle name.
As a child she was always there with a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear and a baseball mit in hand.
The neighborhood children and all of our friends referred to her as "mom" too. No matter how long or difficult the day she had, she always had energy left for others. She was always prepared with an extra plate at the table, kisses and bandaids and wise advice when it was needed most.
She passed some of those traits on to her five children and seven grandchildren. As I grow "up", as I watch my children grow "up" I see my mother shining through in our lives. Her laughter, witty sense of humer coupled with understanding and love of life is truly something to admire.
Thanks MOM!
