The first question we are asked on a daily basis- WHY TEXAS? Flip (my husband Philip is and has always gone by this nick name) & I did not make our decision to go or where to go lightly. I am a PLANNER and we both almost always over-anaylize each and every one of our decisions. We talk about and debate every possible aspect and scenario before we make the smallest of decisions. I guess you could say that's the part we enjoy.
We knew that we were done with the snow and cold. We had visited San Antonio several times for vacation, as well as many other places. As I said before, we made a "wish list" including all the things that were important to each of us. #1-NO SNOW, #2- Access to a city with some cultural interest, #3- Somewhat out of the natural disaster zones (hurricanes, tornados, earth quakes, floods, extreme drought etc.) #4-Within a couple hours driving distance of a coastline, #5-Not a tourist trap, #6-A couple of acres of property available within our price range. These six things served as our guide as we narrowed down our new place to call home.
All this said, TEXAS was our answer! And to be honest we have NO regrets!
